A guide to museum exhibits in the Jacksonville area.

Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens: 829 Riverside Ave. ''Gods Prophets, and Heroes: The Sculpture of Donald De Lue,'' drawings, maquettes and bronze sculptures through June 23. Museum hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday (no admission charge 4 p.m. to 9 p.m on Tuesday only); 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday and major holidays. Admission: $6 for adults; $4, seniors and military with ID.; $3 students; $1 children 5 and under; and free for members. (904) 356-6857. Art Connections: Scavenger hunts for kids, 1 p.m. Saturdays. Films are shown in the round room at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and 2:15 p.m. Sundays; and Kids Flix, 2 p.m. every Saturday, Round Room. Historical Middleburg Museum, Inc. 3912 Section St., Middleburg. On display: artifacts, maps, photos, weapons and many other memorabilia from the Middleburg area. Museums hours: 2-4 p.m. Sundays. Free. (904) 282-5357

Jacksonville Historical Society: At the foot of the Main Street bridge on the Southbank Riverwalk at 100-B Wharfside Way. Exhibits on local history are offered noon to 5 p.m. daily. (904) 396-6307 or FAX (904) 398-4647.

Jacksonville Maritime Museum: Two locations - 1015 Museum Circle, Unit 2, by the fountain on the Southbank, and at The Jacksonville Landing. Current displays on the Southbank are a model of the Titanic room, a diorama as it lies on the ocean floor, models of the Three Friends and sailing ships. The Landing exhibit features models of large Navy destroyers, a German submarine and an 1882 St. Johns River riverboat, the Frederick deBerry. Museum hours: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission: Free. (904) 398-9011.

Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art: 4160 Boulevard Center Drive. Education art videos are featured from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays. Museum hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday; 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission varies on listings. (904) 398-8336, extension 11..

Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum: 101 W. First St. (corner of First and Laura streets). Roots manuscripts documenting Alex Haley's revision and rewrites through June 30; and ''Amistad/Slavery-Related Manuscripts'' through June 30. Museum hours: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Mandarin Museum and Historical Society: 12447 Mandarin Road. Exhibit Harriet Beecher Stowe; Maple Leaf items, Charlie Brown pottery. Museum hours: 1-3 p.m. every first and third Sunday, October-May. Open by appointment year round. (904) 262-8563.

Museum of Science and History: 1025 Museum Circle. MOSH Explorer, a stationary simulator vehicle that takes you from ancient Egypt to the glaciers is now open. Admission: $3.50 or $5 for two rides by the same person in addition to museum admission. Museum hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m Sunday. (904) 396-7062.

Museum of Southern History: 4304 Herschel St. Original artifacts and memorabilia tracing our region's past from prehistoric times through the Civil War. Admission: $1 general; free for museum members and for children 16 and under when accompanied by an adult. Museum hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. (904) 388-3574.

World Golf Hall of Fame: 21 World Golf Place, St. Augustine. ''The Historical Game'' looks at golf's past through artifacts and memorabilia. ''The Modern Game'' lets visitors discover the world of golf at the Global Command Center and the video-interactive exhibits. ''The Shrine'' honors golf's greatest players in a 190-foot tower shrine. Admission: $9 for adults; $7, seniors; children, 5 to 12, $4; and children under 5, free. Museum hours: open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Sunday. (904) 940-4000.
